So I've grown tired of waiting on the people at Opus to deliver the bike I ordered some 3 months ago and with the help of my local bike dealer I've decided to instead get a Surly Long Haul Trucker. This bike has nothing but great reviews and I'm really looking forward to riding it.
I've also ordered a set of Ortlieb Bike-Packer Plus rear panniers as well as a set of Ortlieb Front-Roller Classic panniers. I'm still iffy about getting a handlebar bag. We will have to see how everything fits when its all together.
The weather here in St. John's has been really nice since the 9th so I've managed to put in 180km of riding on the mountain bike as training. Its nice to get out of the gym and off those stationary bikes for a change, although the mountain bike isn't the most comfortable thing to ride for that long a distance.

I feel very confident I can do at least 100km a day this summer now that I've gotten a bit of time put into the road. If the weather stays nice the weekend I'll take my road bike out for a 100km ride around the bay.
Well anyways, I'll be sure to snap some pics of my bad ass black bike w/ black bags when she arrives. I cannot wait!
