Fearless wildlife in Manning Park |
I was also invited over for a much needed coffee and breakfast. The gentleman had a woman with him and they had just been recently married if I remember correctly. She had been by earlier that day to comment on the glow my tent gives off when it's little lantern is on at night. We chatted for a bit and they topped off my water from their dwindling supply and I bid them farewell to once again hit the road. I'd be on the crowsnest (3) all day.
It was hot again today but I was awarded with a short section of down hills through the wooded provincial park. I did however have to climb a 500m hill to the Sunday summit at 1282m. After yesterday, this summit was fairly easy and from here on out it was mostly down winding hills with great distant views of mountains and hills all around. I was to enjoy the fruits of yesterdays labor.
Some sort of tree planting? |
The evening was at hand so I picked up some groceries and found a quiet little spot on the north hills overlooking the town and set down for another night. The forecast was clear and I was away from any prying eyes so I kept the rain tarp off the tent and had a cool star filled night to get some rest.
